The regulations relating to cleaning and hygiene are very strict. For example, the disinfection temperature is approximately 120 ˚C.

However, the bearings responsible for moving the blood samples are subjected to other requirements in addition to high temperatures. Any contact with aqueous media carries the risk of corrosion. Furthermore, the sample distributor in the analytical equipment must move smoothly and with high positional accuracy.
