| Function |
A PVC emulsion heated to 200 ˚C passes through 3 gaps between rolls. Each gap reduces the thickness of the material. After the third gap, the PVC emulsion has been formed into a film. The film thickness will vary only slightly if the gap between the rolls undergoes only slight changes. |
| Requirements |
The low temperature process requires high rolling forces. The rolls and roll bearings must support these forces and allow a uniform film thickness to be achieved. Since the gap tolerances are only a few microns, the rolls must run true and must not undergo flexing. |
