For the bearing arrangement of the main drive shaft, radial ball bearings 6010 were selected. These bearings can support both radial and axial loads. |
The available space in the secondary shaft is smaller. Angular contact ball bearings 7205-BE are therefore used at this point to support the radial and axial loads. |
The angular contact ball bearings have a contact angle of 40˚ (suffix B) and a larger ball set (suffix E). |
The freedom from clearance required is achieved by providing additional support to the radial and angular contact ball bearings. |
The radial and angular contact ball bearings are lubricated by the gearbox oil. This oil bath lubrication is sufficient if the take-off direction is to the side or downwards. |
The seals in the housing protect the bearings and bevel gears against contamination and retain the oil in the gearbox. |
If the take-off direction is upwards, there is a risk that the angular contact ball bearings will not be sufficiently provided with oil. In this case, angular contact ball bearings 7205-BE-2RS are used. These have contact seals on both sides and are supplied greased. |
